Another look at the specific parts of a boat

 

1.o  ya am cicivoyongan no tatala,

 主格        排水孔    屬格 

no mangyid ka, kiyan no ranom do sahad na am,

   靠岸        且有  屬格    處格  裡面 

pakaroen mo dang  o  nicilcil mo jia,

   拿掉      那裡 主格   塞子      

kalio    na no ranom dang.

This is the drain for the boat. After arriving on land, if there is water in the boat, you would pull out the stopper and let the water drain.

This is my rapan (the middle board of the bottom layer of the boat,) made from the hard wood of a longan tree. These two boards are called pataw na (the vertical middle board on the first level). These two are the pataw na boards of the front of the boat, and those are the pataw na boards of the back of the boat. If you go up a level, the board in the middle is called the pavaken board (above the second level). That is the pavaken board of the front of the boat, and that one the pavaken board of the back.

 

3.o  ya am yaheb[2], motmot[3] ito,

主格   固定板    隔板   那個

ngaran na do  jito am maoji a, ngaran na do jia am

This one is called the yabheb board (with moonlike curvature), and that is its motmot (division board). The motmot division at the end of the boat is called motmot na do maoji, and the one at the front of the boat motmot na do maoji. That is the compartment for fish. The two boards in the middle of the uppermost level are called pangowdan (place to row, side of the boat). The board that curves upwards at the front and back of the boat is called the pakalaten board.

 

4.o pakalaten rana ya am,

As for this triangular division board, it is used for separating so that it will not move.

This is the hole for the mast. There is also one at the front of the boat. This is the stopper in the keel because a hole was dug in the bottom of the boat. This is the panyakedan (used to tie the boards on the two sides of the boat to secure them); there is one at both the front and the back of the boat. This is the hole for the mast that I mentioned earlier. This is the narrower rowing area, but that is the real rowing area (side of the boat).

The direct translation of pataw is buoy or float. This is a part of the boat.

The Yaheb is the separating board between the fish compartment and the cabin.
